Auburn Game Day
We finally made it to a tiger walk on time--hurray!! Of course, Charlie is asleep and E.V. is in her happy place with her thumb! At least Harper feels the electricity in the air!!! Go tigers!!!
The auburn gymnists were there signing autographs--Harper was in heaven!! She said this made all the walking worth it!! To her, gymnists and cheerleaders are like movie stars!!
For all of you Tiger fans, this is the view from Sewell Hall facing the baseball field--we just love walking on campus on gameday!Monday, September 8, 2008

New to me
My goodness, I think I am stepping into a new world! I never thought that I would be the "type" to have a blog, but here goes!!!
I have realized that there is not enough time in a day to have a family and keep up with everyone that I want to keep up with--so I hope this helps!
This year has been a CRAZY year for the McGowan's in Auburn! We moved at the end of March (after finding out that we had another bundle of joy on the way and no room left in our house) and after spending 2 nights in our new house we added some testosterone ---Charlie---he has been a joy to get to know (besides the sleepless nights)--born on April Fool's Day--is that funny or what? I would have sworn on ANYThING that Charlie was a girl--we were very surprised when he came out a "he"!!! VERY different from our girls!! Definitely ALL boy, it is amazing how from birth the genders are so different. He is strong and solid--unlike our petite little girls!!
In June, Clara joined us for a fun filled, BUSY summer. We did our annual Emerald Isle, NC beach trip with Johnny's extended family and then we were off to Pawley's Island for a trip with my extended family. Since the water was up on Lake Martin, we were able to spend some weekends there when we were in town. The summer flew by so quick that we felt like Clara had just arrived from Colorado when we had to say our good byes! It is always so hard, it never gets easier!! But she had to get back to start Junior High--isn't that exciting???
My little Harper started the 1st grade in August...I can't believe she has gotten this big so fast!! Her interests are all over the board at the moment, she is mostly interested in the Jonas Brothers right now---particularly Nick, I believe! To be fair, she is our little "social butterfly", makes friends where ever she goes! She is so sweet!
E.V. is our little household comic--she makes us laugh with her funny little personality! She definitely idolizes her older sisters and just loves her little "Chardie" as she calls him!! Johnny is back teaching in Smith Station. After a summer spent with a newborn and 3 females , I think it is a relief to get back to third graders!!!
And as for me, this summer I added another degree to my name--I finished in Accounting--HURRAY!!! The problem is, now that I am out, I am having had a hard time adjusting to not having every minute scheduled!!! Not to worry, the CPA is looming over my head--so cross your fingers for me!
We have had an eventful year thus far and have been truly blessed!!
I hope this will keep me connected to my far away friends (and close ones, too)!!!
